COHT Membership

he Coalition of Historical Trekkers is an alliance for all Living History participants with interests from the 1600 to 1860 era, regardless of their persona or geographical location. The COHT has members throughout the United States. This organization is a network for historical trekkers making it possible for members to organize and come together for various treks and gatherings. Historical information and dcumentation is exchanged as well as useful how-to information.
Each year the COHT holds National Gatherings. In the past they have been held at Caesars Creek Pioneer Village (at Waynesville, Ohio) and the Rocky Mountain National Rendezvous. If you attend any of the other major annual historical events, such as Feast of the Hunter's Moon, The Eastern Primitive, or Mansker's Station, you will likely see many COHT members camping together.
In 2006, the COHT will hold it's annual National Gathering at Historic Fort Osage, MO, on the bluffs above the Missouri River at Sibley, MO (near Kansas City). The gathering will be held From April 20 thru April 23, 2006. This will be the third time that the COHT has held the National Gathering at Fort Osage to bring the entire membership together at one place and time. This Gathering will be open for all COHT members, and it is highly recommended that members attend this Gathering.

he COHT membership is open to men and women of all ages. Members are under no obligation but will be included in our mailing list for COHT events and correspondence with other members if desired. Members can choose the extent of their involvement in our organization. One does not have to be a seasoned historian or period trekker in order to be a member in the COHT. We welcome members who are in the earliest stages of this wonderful hobby, but we do ask that members have the common goal of reaching complete authenticity in their historical persona. This includes your clothing, firearms, and the accoutrements that would authentically fit your chosen historical time period, between the years 1600 and 1860. Part of our purpose is helping each other to reach our common goals.
COHT member's receive a membership card and the Official National COHT Magazine which is published and mailed quarterly. The will keep you up to date and in touch with the goings on within the organization. The Time Traveler's Gazette is being printed and amiled to every member, as well as available on line for members.

Our state representatives are now publishing a COHT newsletter at least quarterly for the members in their state. This will keep you informed on events and treks at a local level.
