Newsletter: May 2006

Well, I hope everyone will allow for my tardiness in this letter but life seems to have taken all of my time until now.  OK, no more whining.

I made a trip to Fort Chartres at Prarie du Rocher , Illinois at the end of March and had a marvelous time.  The trade fair was well attended by folks from all over and had plenty of traders of all sorts.  I saw more people I knew than I thought I would so it was nice to renew old acquaintances in a great setting and among some fine folks.  I had made a commitment to attend so could not make the annual gathering at Fort Osage .  However, I understand it was a good success and everyone had a great time.

If you haven’t followed the discussion of the Trade Fair at Cadron on the message board, go to the web site and check on it.  It’s set for the 26, 27, and 28th of May and is located a few miles east of Conway , Arkansas .  I have enclosed a invitation in the letter. I intend to be there and hope to see you all as well.

Lashpe minti, heat comes or summer is here.  Not much trekking takes place down here, as you all may know, during this part of the year unless you really want to practice living history in the worst sort of way.  I have to admit, I have gone out during May in a state of desperation and, well, it’s just not as much fun as cooler weather.  I usually use this time of year to work on stuff for the fall and read.  Besides, it’s time to go fishing.

Well, that is all for now.  I’d like to hear from everyone so I will leave the following address:
